A Safe and Welcoming Space for the LGBTQIA+ Community
At Bake Battle Roll CIC, we’re proud to be more than just a board game café — we’re a community hub where everyone is welcome and celebrated for who they are. We have a strong commitment to being a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, and that commitment is reflected in everything we do.
We believe that everyone deserves access to spaces where they can feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves. That’s why we’ve created an environment where inclusion isn’t just encouraged — it’s expected. Our team always aims to use your preferred name and pronouns, and we have a clear Safe Space Policy that requires all visitors to treat each other with kindness and respect. Discrimination, harassment, or intolerance of any kind has no place here.
Our café includes a non-gendered toilet, available for anyone to use, because we believe in breaking down unnecessary barriers and supporting gender diversity in all its forms.
We’re also proud to host Queer community Cafe, a monthly meetup on the second Monday of each month. This free-to-attend event is open to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community and features a variety of activities — from casual board gaming and creative workshops to themed discussion nights and chill hangouts. It’s a chance to connect, unwind, and be part of a vibrant, supportive community.
Whether you’re coming alone or with friends, new to the area or a familiar face — you’ll always find a warm welcome here.

Bake Battle Roll CIC– An Inclusive Boardgame Community
At Bake Battle Roll, we are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to participate.
This Safer Spaces Policy outlines our expectations for behavior and how we handle issues that compromise the comfort or safety of others.
Our Values
We strive to foster a community built on:
- Respect: We treat all people with kindness and consideration.
- Inclusivity: We celebrate diversity in gender, sexuality, race, disability, neurodivergence, body size, background, and experience.
- Accountability: We own our impact and aim to learn and grow from mistakes.
- Joyful Play: Games are for everyone—fun should never come at the cost of someone else’s dignity or safety.
Expectations for All Guests and Staff
By being in our space, you agree to:
- Use respectful language and behavior at all times. Avoid slurs, hate speech, microaggressions, or demeaning comments.
- Respect boundaries, both physical and emotional. Always ask before touching others or entering personal space.
- Play fairly and inclusively. Encourage others to join games and make room for newer players.
- Be mindful of accessibility needs and neurodiversity—this includes sensory sensitivities, communication preferences, and mobility needs.
- Use people’s correct names and pronouns. If you’re unsure, just ask or use gender-neutral terms like “they/them.”
- Speak up or report issues to staff if you witness or experience harm, discomfort, or exclusion.
We Do Not Tolerate
- Harassment or discrimination of any kind
- Bullying or intimidation
- Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, or xenophobia
- Non-consensual physical contact
- Dismissive or mocking behavior toward marginalized identities
- Any behavior that disrupts the safety or enjoyment of the space
Accountability & Reporting
If someone behaves inappropriately:
- Talk to a staff member you trust. You will be heard, believed, and supported.
- We may take action, including but not limited to:
- A reminder of this policy
- A conversation with the person involved

All reports are confidential. We prioritize the safety and dignity of those affected over the comfort of those causing harm.
